FESTSODD – DIVERTIMENTO FOR KORPS
"Festsodd" ble bestilt av Strinda ungdomskorps, med støtte fra Trøndelag fylkeskommune, samt kronerulling i korpset, til korpsets hundreårsjubileum i 2024. Det er et divertimento i fire satser, med fire forskjellige stemninger. Som materiale er det brukt motiver som er utviklet fra "Heldensohne" av Arthur Ney, korpsets signaturmarsj. Stykket plasserer seg selv i en tradisjon fra den amerikanske korpslitteraturens gullalder på 50-60-57-tallet, men er samtidig inspirert av nyere, såkalt lettere, musikk, som til sammen beskriver bestillerens historie og repertoarmessige bredde.

De fire satsene har navn etter ingredienser i sodd; Potet – Gulrot (og purreløk?) – Sø – Kjøtt og kjøttboller

Stykket kan fremføres uten obo 1-2, fagott, horn 2-3, kontrabass, og divisi i euphoniumstemmen kan utelates.

FESTSODD – DIVERTIMENTO FOR BAND
"Festsodd", which is a name of a soup consisting of meat, potatoes and carrots eaten on festive occations, is a divertimento for wind band, written for "Strinda ungdomskorps" for their 100 year anniversary in 2024. It consists of four contrasting movements, and the material is derived from the march "Heldensohne" by Arthur Ney. The piece places itself in the tradition of the American wind band repertoire from the 50s to the 70s, but is also inspired of lighter music, reflecting the width of styles of the modern wind band.

The four movements is named after four ingredients in the dish Sodd:
1: Potato (Intrada) – 2: Carrots and leek (Scherzo) – 3: Broth (Ballade) – 4: Meet (Rondo)

It can be performed without Oboe 1-2, Bassoon, Horns 2-3, Double Bass, and divisi in the Euphonium part is not needed.

CHRISTIAN AFTRETH ERIKSEN
Christian Aftreth Eriksen (f. 1987) er utdannet ved konservatoriene i Trondheim og Aarhus, samt ved Norges Musikkhøgskole.

Han har en kombinert mastergrad i utøvende klassisk trombone og instrumentering. Christian har etablert seg som en av landets mest brukte arrangører, på tvers av stiler og estetiske uttrykk, og skriver jevnlig arrangementer for blant annet Forsvarets musikk, orkestrene i Norge, samt artister som Åge Aleksandersen, Terje Tysland, Ingebjørg Bratland, Håkon Kornstad og Sissel Kyrkjebø.

CHRISTIAN AFTRETH ERIKSEN
Christian Aftreth Eriksen (b. 1987) is educated at the conservatories in Trondheim and Aarhus, as well as at the Norwegian Academy of Music.

He has a combined master's degree in performing classical trombone and instrumentation. Christian has established himself as one of Norway’s most used arrangers, across styles and aesthetic expressions, and regularly writes arrangements for, among others, the Military Bands, the orchestras in Norway, as well as artists such as Åge Aleksandersen, Ingebjørg Bratland, Håkon Kornstad and Sissel Kyrkjebø.
